With the demise of Authy’s desktop app, I’ve spent the last few days trying to rebuild it. I have the codes I need, and can totally do this with a command line utility. But what I want is the app on desktop and mobile device. For a moment I considered rust, but rust GUI isn’t really a thing. Flutter, however, basically works everywhere. Did a few tests and I can totally do what I want with it.
I’ve not really built any GUI from scratch for years. Back then it was with Java’s Swing framework. Any web work I did was painfully updating an existing system. Now I find my self learning flutter from scratch like a real newbie. I kinda like it so far, but again, that’s coming from someone who’s been a backend developer for almost 30 years. I’ll start posting my thoughts as I continue this toy project.
